Daily Dose of Light ♡

Good Morning my beautiful friends and happy Sunday! Let’s rejuvenate ourselves for the coming week!

When I was a child, Sunday was always my favorite day because I got to see all of my family and my little friends at church, then there was bible school, and once we go home you already know what time it is. Grandma cooking Sunday dinner!!!

I’ve noticed that as I got older and began moving into High School, and then on to College, I didn’t have the same excitement for Sunday’s. Without the familial aspect and being able to look forward to my grandmama’s chicken I strayed away from the church as a whole. Focusing on other things that are less important and certainly not the will of God.

Today I’m thankful that I’ve been blessed to have been raised in a family that knows the power of prayer and made it their mission to instill those values in me, even if it took almost 20 years for me to truly understand God’s grace. It’s better late than never.

I just wanted to share that for those of you who are still on the fence about God, because not too long ago I was too. I have been through things and seen things that I felt like I shouldn’t have had to see or go through at such a young age, and for a long time I struggled with that. Once I realized that little ole’ me couldn’t have made it through those things alone, I understood that I was never alone and God was always right there.

Footprints in The Sand

One night I dreamed a dream.

As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.

Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,

One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,

especially at the very lowest and saddest times,

there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,

You'd walk with me all the way.

But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,

there was only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you

Never, ever, during your trials and testings.

When you saw only one set of footprints,

It was then that I carried you."

♡ Verse of the Day

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you;

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you,

Yes, I will help you,

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
