The Naomi Group will always stand with our brothers and sisters fighting the good fight for equality. Change will not come overnight and we realize that we have much to do in the name of Justice for our fallen brothers and sisters George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Sandra Bland, and the many others slain at the hands of the system that is supposed to “protect” us. As we pay honor to the progress of two of our most influential leaders of the civil rights movement, Malcolm X and Dr. King, we’d be remiss to disregard that both leaders were men of strong faith. Malcolm was a devout Muslim and Dr. King was a devout Christian. With that being said, we must remember who is also on this journey with us. GOD. Although Malcolm and Dr. King shared different philosophies on how to handle the issues at hand, they coexisted and understood that they were fighting the same fight. We must take God with us and not lose sight of what we are fighting for, and remember that everyone can play a part in changing the world. Whether you’re out protesting on the front lines, or you’re at home making sure your voice is being heard on social media platforms, make sure you do it in the name of God and Justice.
